OKRA Night at Nest Basel with JABY, FONCÉ, HAUSVRAU, and KA-RABA.
OKRA is a collective of multidisciplinary creatives of African descent that has been active since 2020. Founded in Basel, its members are now spread across several cities and have established themselves as artists.

JABY is a Basel-based DJ and sound artist who is well-versed in the broad spectrum of Afrocentric music genres. From gqom beats and amapiano to singeli from Dar es Salaam, as well as Afro-Caribbean sounds like shatta and bouyon, she plays a selection of her favorite bass-heavy, groovy beats of African origin.
JABY has already performed at various venues throughout Switzerland and can be heard on radio shows such as Radio LoRa.

KA-RABA is a Swiss-based DJ, curator, and community organizer, as well as the visionary founder of OKRA Collective. Known for her hypnotic, bass-driven soundscapes, KA-RABA creates immersive club experiences where Afrofuturism collides with cutting-edge electronic music. Her artistry transcends genres, guiding audiences through transformative sonic journeys that are both challenging and deeply enchanting.

FONCÉ is a multidimensional poet and cultural worker based in Zurich. At the core of their practices are poetic storytelling and re/dis_membering through expansive listening.
FONCÉ's creative expressions mirror their processes of un_becoming by weaving together different artistic mediums such as writing, sound production, DJing and curating. They are curious about collectively re_writing and re_assembling embodied narratives, while drawing knowledge from lived experiences.

HAUSVRAU is a very needed breath of fresh air to the current concept of electronic music.

Having started through their own event FAGDOM (Zürich, 2019-2023), they grew within and beyond the bubble of queer events and have gained national and international success having played in most Swiss big clubs and festivals.

Regarding the music , be sure that a Brazilian funk beat and the kuntiness of a Ballroom track will always be present in her sets, alongside much house and latin electronic music. This blend builds groovy high energy sets that make the dance floor a space of joy, community and a cardio workout.
