The Buntspecht sextet has a penchant for the in-between. Their dynamic music swings from euphoria to melancholy, from lightheartedness to dark romanticism. The genres they draw upon are just as diverse as their instrumentation. Identity seems to be a fluid concept here. But as we all know, writing about music makes about as much sense as photographing a lavish buffet. You see with your ears, with your mouth, with your hands, and with your feet.

In April 2027, Buntspecht will set out on the EINGANG / AUSGANG TOUR 2027. The tour will take the Viennese sextet through Germany, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Austria. They’ll be bringing along new music set to be released in 2027—and with it, the next step in a musical universe that consistently defies any clear categorization.

Live, all of this becomes an immediate, physical experience: music to listen to, dance to, dream to, and drift away with. An entrance, an exit—and in between, everything Buntspecht makes of it.
